  1. Kiefier Sutherland is a ex NY cop battling evil forces in mirrors that destroy both him and his family. My girlfriend and I just came from seeing Mirrors, and neither of us have laughed so hard and so much since we saw the Disney movie "Enchanted". My girlfriend actually had to watch part of the movie from the hallway so that all the people around us who took the movie so seriously wouldn't be offended by how hard the two of us were laughing. She was in tears, and I was in awe.

The two of us debated on the way home whether the director was trying to be scary or trying to be funny. She guessed funny, and I thought part of the awesome humor was how seriously the movie took itself.

It literally had scenes where the "monsters" were posing in front of the screen effectively saying, "I'm scaring you! I'm scaring you!" instead of attacking.

It is, quite literally, beautifully ridiculous. To borrow a term from the director of "Batman the Movie", the movie Mirrors is theater of the absurd. It couldn't be more silly or more enjoyable if Keifer Sutherland had made a crack about a chimpanzee with a machine gun.

This is a complete failure as a horror movie; but that's okay, because it's fantastically funny to watch and is wonderful entertainment. Both of us were delighted to have seen such a feel good horror movie.

At no time ever, not in the dialog, in the setup, in the murders and spooks is this movie ever scary or even cohesive. It's like a board room of twelve year olds who didn't even speak English saw The Exorcist, The Ring, 1408, Dark Water, Lethal Weapon and every single Sci Fi Channel movie that revolves around the divorced couple and mashed random effects, cliché dialogs, reactions and spooks. It's so incohesive that frankly my girlfriend and I are shocked that so many people think this is a serious horror movie.

Keep in mind, of the whole theater we suspect maybe only six people in the room laughed and realized this was silly and fun. Everybody else was biting their nails and talking to Keifer Sutherland trying to tell him what not to do so he wouldn't take wrong turns.

If you love horror movies and love horror movie spoofs, forget all the movies that intentionally try to parody horror movies, and see this one that doesn't even realize it's the modern day Attack of the Killer Tomatoes.

The reason I give this an eight is that I reserve the highest reviews for true quality movies like The Fall, El Orfanato, Apocalypto, etc. But we had so much fun watching this movie that I can't honestly give it less than an eight.
