Has anyone seen a coat of arms with a maroon or red background and a gold tree?

I had a dream about a week ago where I was in a great hall and the surcoat I was wearing was maroon with a gold tree that I think was an oak. I know the meanings behind the colors and symbols but I was wondering if there was a family or noble that it was tied to.

  1. Sounds like a place in Scotland or Ireland, or the Norway region. Those are royalty colors. The gold tree sounds like an emblem of some sort relating to a family crest.

  2. Oak trees and maroon fields are pretty common. You've probably seen that before online. I don't know which family it belongs to. It might've been a composite of a couple you've seen.

The maroon field would represent patience in battle, and the oak tree would represent lasting strength.

Anyway, don't read too much into dreams. They're just your brain filing thoughts away, and they don't mean anything, won't tell you the future and aren't windows to other worlds.

  3. I agree with Cory. Don't put too much importance in dreams.  Also the surname product business which includes coats of arms is one of the biggest scams around. They sell them like they belong to everyone with a particular surname and they don't.  If what they are selling is a valid coat of arms, it belongs to one individual man.

They were and are granted to a man and are passed down through the direct legitimate male line of descent.  Only the oldest son gets his father's upon his father's death. The other sons will get one with some differences but the peddlers that sell them won't have all of them as they don't need to in order to sell to the gullible.

Actually, there might have been more than one man with any particular surname, not all

necessarily related, that were each granted their own coat of arms, all different. Again, the peddlers that sell them won't have all of them.  Some men with that surname were never granted a coat of arms and their descendants are not entitled to one at all.  Most people aren't.

  4. listen when you have dreams there etither things you seen or things you would like basically real things...anyways sometimes we as human think about soemthing alot and then we have dreams about it..or other times we dream about things that had to do with nothing and never though of.
