I've watched the first video and a little over an hour of the six hour expansion pack. I was wondering if anyone has seen all six hours of video made by this guy. Mostly, I was wondering if any skeptics have seen the entire thing and still think that we shouldn't take action against climate change.

I watched the first video.  Thanks, it was entertaining like Gore's inconvenient truth, but the logic is fuzzy.

When assessing risk/reward/cost, one needs to do more then to say if you don't believe in (my) God, you are going to h**l.  Hey I believe in God, it doesn't cost me anything. BUT:

What is it going to cost me to join YOUR church? Also what are the consequences of spending resources that might be better spent elsewhere for mans benefit?

Really, you should get out more.  Staying inside and watching hours of movies will create a distorted perception of reality.

Go outside, meet the neighbors.  Travel, see that world is doing just fine.  Spend some time helping people.

Global warming is the biggest lie since:

Y2K

ozone depletion

global cooling

population boom

Ariana superiority

etc.

there is at least one every generation

Yet, we are still here, so go out and have some fun in the world God created.

I have seen the video and commented on it in past questions. It really is not a well thought out idea. Based on his idea, we should spend vast sums of money on occurences we have no control over.

What if an asteroid hits the earth. This is a planet killer, so we should build a vast array of satellites to monitor and destroy the meteor?

Pick any catastrophy and you can say we should spend every dime we have to try and plan for the disaster using the video's thought pattern. It really makes NO sense.

What does make sense is to study the theory in an independent manner. Unfortunately, this is difficult as politics have been introduced. What should have happened was the studies are done, a conclusion is scientifically verified, then we decide on an action.

In the case of AGW, no evidence directly supports the theory, and lots of data counters the hypothesis. Given this, why would we plan to try and stop something we can not control and did not cause? It really makes no sense.

Also, what was missing from the video is the real cost of trying to stop AGW. Consider the fact that simply subsidizing bio fuels has caused the increased destruction of rain forests and food prices to sky rocket. This intern has caused rioting in poorer nations. In time, it will cause mass starvation in these poor nations. It has also caused gas prices to rise (along with poor government policies). The simple act of subsidizing bio fuels has increased CO2 in the air (by reducing rain forests and the cost to produce bio fuels). If this "first step" has caused this much blow back, imagine what a real solution would do.

Remember this simple fact, Government mandates result in the opposite effect of what was expected. By trying to reduce CO2, they have increased it.

You really have no idea how comforting it is to see another person who actually believes that Global Climate Change is real, IT IS the truth!

I watched about half the videos (took like 90 minutes but it was cool) and I really am scared at most of the comments here! I cannot believe that people can just blow off the fact that we are all going to suffer from severe natural disasters and famine/war!

Do these people not realize that the nerdiest organizations in THE ENTIRE PLANET (namely AAAS and NAS) are risking their entire reputations to say that Global Climate change is a REAL danger! The people that belong to those organizations have PHD’S in this stuff! If they are not credible then no one is!

It is no longer about what is best for YOU, but what is best for EVERYONE, thus the whole GLOBAL climate change!

I just watched the 1st video.  I enjoyed watching his argument, but it was not compelling enough to change anyone's mind.  He presented a form of a false dichotomy.  There are many more possibilities than the four that he presented.

Even if we are causing the planet to warm, why is that a bad thing?  Wouldn't extended growing seasons allow us to grow more food and reduce world hunger?  Wouldn't a warmer planet increase bio-diversity?

There is no evidence that warming will result in the cataclysmic events predicted by many scientists.  Climate models do not work.  There is not a single climate model out there that can accurately predict the present.  How can they be relied on to predict the future?

Finally, you cannot take action against climate change unless you propose to control the sun, the orbit of the earth, and volcanic activity on the earth.  The climate has always changed, and always will change.  If every human disappeared tomorrow the climate would continue to change.

I haven't seen any of the videos and I still think that we shouldn't take action against the climate change.  Humans have increased in number since the dawn of time.  They rape and pollute the planet and destroy other life forms for their mere comfort.  We are the worst thing that has ever happened to this planet.

As soon as we've damaged it enough it will cease to support us and will eventually revert to it's original state (when it was happy).

I've seen some of that before.

As much as I do take concern and action in the fact that the Earth is undergoing a climate change, perhaps as result of changes in the poles, those movies are mostly propaganda. It's reactionary and plays on people's emotions.

I have seen a few, but they are not what convinced me that we needed to take action.

And I am still a skeptic.
