  1. The McCanns are controversial and the Queen never gets involved in controversy.  I doubt very much that this will happen.

  2. You must consider yourself to be really important if you want to dictate what the Queen includes in her Christmas message.

  3. I cannot see the Queen singling out just Maddie...she might make a broad statement about the plight of parents with missing children, but she isn't the type of Lady to just mention one family...that's just not something she would do.

I CAN see the Queen making a private gesture towards the McCann's though....

  4. Why shouldn't the Queen mention the plight of Maddie? Her speech always reviews the year's events and Maddie's story hasn't been out of the media ever since it happened. Why are so many people "out-to-get" the McGanns? OK, they messed up by leaving their kids unattended in the room - but what a price they had to pay for that mistake, they didn't deserve that. The Portugese police are such bungling incompetents they are only accusing the parents to take the spotlight off their own c*ck ups. Give the parents a break, and if by the Queen highlighting Maddie's plight in her speech serves to keep people looking for Maddie then that can only be a good thing.

  5. well it is certainly a good way to increase the circulation of a newspaper there have been so many rumours about Maddie Mc cann i will only believe the truth when i see it for myself

  6. Will the queen also mention the kids who have been in the news this year because they have been abused or murdered by their own parents?  I doubt it.  There is no chance of there ever being any justice for Maddie

  8. Awww, how sweet of the Queen. But I hope they do find her. I'm actually more concerned about Natalie Holloway, I'm wondering if she'll be found alive.

  9. You need to substantiate this.

    QUEEN'S MADDIE 'TRIBUTE'

The Queen is considering talking about Maddie in her Christmas speech.

She is said to be deeply saddened at the tot's disappearance and thinks a mention of her would strike a chord with the nation.

Parents Kate and Gerry are "deeply touched" by Her Majesty's concern.

But the Queen will take advice about whether it is appropriate to refer to Maddie while the McCanns are still official "aguidos" - suspects.

A Royal source said: "The case of Madeleine has touched the hearts of people everywhere and the Queen is no different.

"There's not one parent or grandparent who isn't hoping for Madeleine's safe return. It helps the public to know their monarch has the same hopes, fears and wishes as they do.

"The Queen wants to give words of comfort to those affected but is still discussing whether it will be appropriate."

Maddie will have been missing for 236 days when the Queen broadcasts on Christmas Day.

A Palace spokesman said last night: "We cannot comment on the contents of the speech."
