Has anyone stayed at Gran Melia in Cancun?

I have read the reviews on this hotel but like most hotel reviews they are mixed. If you have stayed at this hotel what did you like or not like about this hotel? Our other choices are fiesta american condesa or Grand Oasis. We are planning to stay here around august.

I've been at Gran Meliá Cancún.

That is a very nice and wonderful hotel, awesome, great spas, great pools, great restaurants, great beach, great rooms. Is VERY good (much more better that any I've been either in USA or Canada; and the most I've been in México). The only problem is that is far away from the "party zone" and from the town; it is on the extreme south of Cancún. If you want to party, this is not the hotel you need; if are going to rest and go out on day (like excursions) it is very good.

The thing is, most of these resorts have mixed reviews, however, the Grand Oasis probably has the most negative and consistently so, out of the three you mentioned. The FA Condesa is a wonderful resort, I sent a few friends there and they were quite happy. The advantage to staying at the Gran Melia however, is that you can add on the All-Inclusive plan on the morning of the days you decide you want it. This is a fantastic advantage to those who may not want the AI every day, like on those days when you will be taking a tour.
