  1. I have been to Malaga, but stayed a a small pension in the centre of the city. I can recommend the town, it is really beautiful!!!

From what I have seen of the other buildings/hotels in Malaga, the hotel you describe will be fine. It's a magical place!

  2. Here's one I got from Tripadvisor.com regarding the hotel in question

I had a great trip to MALAGA with Cambridge University Boat Club. We went with Oxford University Boat Club to row against the Local Rowing Club , Club Remo Mediterraneo. We flew out British Airways and were hosted at the new Monte Malaga Hotel, where the Rooms were excellent, the Staff helpful and the Food very good.

We also went to the Fiesta with the Tourist Board and this was an amazing 3 streets of non-stop Singing, Dancing, Eating and Drinking in FERIA just outside Malaga.

Cultural visits to the Picasso Museum, Picasso's Birth Place, the Botanic Gardens, the Cathedral and Bull Fight were all squeezed into the busy schedule after our Boat Races. The Firework Display which heralded the start of the FIESTA was almost incredible. We also found time to get in some more practices after the racing and had regular dips in the Olympic-size 50m pool at the lovely Club which adjoins the beach.

I thought MALAGA was almost a joke before I went - a Spanish Blackpool infested by English louts.

I came away with a real respect for such a friendly Place and hope to go there again next year
