Has anyone stayed at the Protea Hotel President in Cape Town?

It's a great hotel in a spectacular position.  Protea Hotels are good on customer service too, probably the best SA chain out there.

I even recommended this hotel recently in my monthly Cape town newsletter as a great value romantic getaway spot.

Haven't stayed there, but i live in Cape Town and it's a pretty nice hotel.  Check reviews at www.tripadvisor.com

I havent stayed there, but i have been there. My friend worked for Protea hotels in South africa and i have stayed at many. they range in ratings but i have always been impressed. the president is one of their prime properties. One thing i do know is that it is in Bantry Bay which is a great neighborhood and absolutely gorgeous...it just sits overlooking the Atlantic ocean on the side of the Mountain. You need a really big bank balance to own a house in Bantry Bay
