We are going on our honeymoon very soon, staying at the RIU Paradise Island, Bahamas. Do they have a tour desk? How is the food? We want to go on a good snorkeling tour, and I didn't know if I should book one online or wait until we get to the resort. Thank you!!!

  1. really, i was just there in Sept '07.  it's not the best place, but it's not the worst.  the best part about the RIU is the beach, by far!  the food and drink included are ok, but you'll find the lunches to be kind of bad.  the breakfast and dinners are better but again you're getting buffet type foods.  I never ate at either of the restaurants, as getting a reservation was ridiculous.  the pool is very small and not the cleanest.  very small pool bar despite what they tell you.  i guess the other good part about the RIU is that the Atlantis is literally right next door, 30 yards and you can walk there no problem.  that's where i spent the majority of time once the sun went down, at the casino and the club.  the restaurants as well.  i booked through Orbitz.  hope you enjoy it!!!

  2. I have never been to the Riu but I have been on Paradise Island and it's a beautiful place.  The beaches are awesome.

Most resort have a tour desk or some sort of tour assistance. I would do my research on excursions (just in case) and bring my information with me where you want to go on a snorkel tour and book when you get there. You can pick a day that's nice.

Here is a link to reviews and candid photos of your resort.
