Are you staying at the Occidental Grand or the Occidental Allegro?  

I've stayed at the Allegro numerous times, nice resort, absolutely beautiful grounds and sandy beaches.  Rooms are a little on the small side, but you're probably not going down there to hang out in the room!  

I haven't stayed at the Grand, but I have heard it's beautiful...I have seen the beach and it's more of an ironshore, so you should probably take some water shoes.  I also know alot of the younger people staying at the Grand would come to the Allegro during the day b/c of all the activities they have going on....
