  1. This is a good middle class resort located in Playa Dorada, and I can tell you this is a very good all inclusive resort! The food is descend and the service is good. The beach is big (13km long) so there is enough space for everybody! Don't forget to discover this beautiful country! But be aware that the excursions you buy in the hotel are more expensive as outside and they are the same. Anyway enjoy it!

    El pinguino

  2. I can't remember if i stayed in that hotel - but definately in the Playa Dorada Resort.

It was one of the most fantastic holidays of my life.

    Completely adored it.

Some of the food made me a little squiffy - but nothing serious.

I think I have just a sensitive stomach.

    Watch out for papaya.

    Beach Is wonderful.

Rooms - eh Ok i guess.

    Hope you enjoy your holiday!

  3. My mom and I went to occidental Playa Dorada right at christmas time. We had an excelent time and would love to go back.

The hotel was always clean. The rooms were washed and all the linins changed, the pools cleaned, the beach was cleaned of debris and seaweed and all the walkways were washed every morning. The cleaners never stopped and made sure everything was spotless all day long.

The main builing provided a place to get away from the pools or beach(as if youd want to). It has little groups of couchs and chairs where small groups can gather to talk. This is a favorite in the evening. There is no need to return to your room once the sun goes down.

There was something for even the pickest eater at the buffet. The theme changed daily so there was always a variety. The meals often featured tropical foods but included many northamerican or european dishes. My favorite was frenchfries served at lunch...much better than McDonalds. The icecream was also a favorite with tropical flavours we can't get here. There was always a selection of juices such as fresh watermellon, fruit punch, pinapple and guava. Or for those without a likeing for fresh squeezed fruit in the morning there was traditional packaged orange juice. In the buffet there was a table of fresh fruits, one of deserts, 2 of different meats, a salad bar, the grill, a collection of breads and buns, the front table for that days specal (often a selection of pasta and rice along with choices of vegatables). No one goes hungry there!

And if the food doesnt keep you occupied all day theres the fabulous beach. All of the resorts in playa dorada share a long stretch of beach that you are free to wander through. There are always plenty of chairs and someone willing to move one to your choice spot on the beach. There is a large roped off area for swimming. Beyond that there are many water activities that you can sign up for just a small walk down the beach. At the far end there is a little market full of suvoneirs, clothes, jewlery and art. If you dont feel like walking, beach vendors can be found traveling the beach. I didnt find them pushy or rude, but chose to buy my selections at the market located in the center of playa dorada.

There are two pools. There's always something going on around the active pool. Funny games for the family, water polo, scuba lessons, spanish lessons, relay races and more. The quiet pool is the place for those wanting to relax in the hot tropical sun away from the noise. I was a 17 year old with my mom and I never found myself bored.

The nightly entertainment was great, never the same show. The crowd was often involved, either in the show or afterwards, when everyone is invited up to dance to the "club dance". It was very entertaining, both for those both dancing and watching! The entertainment varied from a magic show, traditional dominican folkdance, karyoke night, to perfesional dancers and singers. If you wanted a more wild night there are dicos in playa dorada, just not in this hotel, that you can go viset.

I have no complaints except I wish I could have stayed longer.
