Has anyone stayed in the Avanti hotel Paphos Cyprus?

If so how close is it to the beach, and is there a watersports nearby?

Do take time out to visit other parts of the island though! The Troodos Mountains, Lefkosia ( Nicosia ) Larnaka and Protaras. And don't be put off by all the tales about Agia Napa!! Its not all booze cruises and lager louts! There are some great beaches here, as well as good bars and restaurants!! I live just 8K away in Xylofagou.

We are currently experiencing drought conditions, with water supplies cut of for several days at a time, though, this isn't affecting the tourist industry in any way.

I lived in Cyprus for two years while in the RAF in the early sixties.

This was obviously before there were any holiday hotels in Cyprus, but I've been back several times on holiday since, Paphos is one of the prettiest part of the island with plenty of history behind it.

This is a relatively new complex but extremely well built, comfortable  and very popular.

It's only 150 metres to the beach, and there's a water park 2km away, apart from those availble at the beach itself.

When you visit the nearby harbour, which is now full of expensive yachts, consider this is what it looked like in 1964, the buildings in the background are still there but now full of souvenir shops out front, it's still one of my favourite places in the world.
