  1. I just start giggling like a little girl when I talk about Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu (not really, but I really like it). If you want to learn REAL Ninjutsu then join the Bujinkan. It's a combat martial art that will teach you to survive no matter what. If you want to learn some fake "ninjutsu" then you can.... but the Bujinkan is the only organization that teaches authentic Ninjutsu.

  2. No i havn't studied it.

As for what bujikan Ninja says i would seriously doubt that you would want to take advice from somebody who despit their extensive training thinks that a yellow belt in TKD has to register as a lethal weapon in Florida? Here's proof.

The fact is that he is a wanna be cyber Ninja, and here is a link about the style he is recomending:

  3. it is sort of a modern version of the tradtional, i recommend finding a bujinkan budo taijutsu school near you if you want to learn ninjitsu

  4. to add to what katana said....

Stephen K Hayes WAS A MEMBER OF THE BUJINKAN DOJO IN JAPAN, AND TRAINED DIRECTLY UNDER MASAAKI HATSUMI SENSEI FOR A VERY LONG TIME. AND HE TRAINED RIGHT BESIDE THE GREATS IN THE BUJINKAN. (including the founders of the genbukan and jinenkan organizations)

    ok sorry for yelling.

To Shin Do is good stuff...and i'd almost go so far as to say its BETTER ..ok MUCH BETTER than traditional ninjutsu. many of its practitioners enter and win mma matches. but it is also geared for streetfighting.

it isnt fake at all...its updated for our modern world. most of them, bujinkan, jinenkan, and genbukan are staunch traditionalists who want to preserve everything exactly like it is.

the skills are much the same, the principles are the same...its how they are taught, trained, and applied that is different.

  5. I have studied To Shin Do for seven years now.  I have also studied in the Bujinkan.  The facts are that the teachings are more modern versions of the classical kata.  Up until black belt, you focus on these versions.  There are some special classes about once a week at most dojos where classical versions are taught.  At a good school, you will learn about the classical versions along the way as well.  Stephen Hayes gets slammed by some Bujinkan people, but when you talk to high level respected teachers like Bud Malmstrom and Jack Hoban, you hear only sincere respect for his teaching.  Hatsumi Sensei told Mr. Hayes to adapt the system to what he thought would best pass along the lessons of the classical system.  He still trains with Hatsumi Sensei.  If you want more information, check out skhquest.com.  If you are in or near North Carolina, go to the Chapel Hill dojo and check it out in person.
