Has anybody studied in New Zealand or Australia? I am from Washington (USA) and am researching studying abroad. Has anybody completed a degree abroad, and what are the benefits to doing that?

  1. I studied abroad at Victoria University in Wellington, New Zealand during my junior year. I was only there for one term (about 6 months) but it was absolutely worth it.

I went through a programme called AustraLearn (www.australearn.org), which is a great programme for arranging a study abroad in either Australia or New Zealand for a semester or year. I also know someone who went through AustraLearn with the intention of only studying for one year, and managed to transfer to her Australian University to finish her degree while there, so there are lots of options.

If you intend to complete your entire degree program in New Zealand, the definite advantages are that 1. it's cheaper than most universities in the USA; and 2. most degree programmes only take 3 years to complete as opposed to 4.

    Good luck!

  2. i really want to study in new zealand but my rents can't afford it : (
