My dream is to eventually, at the National University of Ireland - Galway. Anyone want to share their experiences?? I'd love to know more about it first! What's the culture like coming from America, etc.

  1. Well I lived with an American last year and they summed it up pretty well. Less of a workload but far harder marking. However if you are studying there from the start then that wouldn't be a problem. NUI Galway and NUI Maynooth are both great fun to attend.

  2. Once you leave America, you're on a different planet. I'm Irish and was used to Ireland and the Western European culture, but the US was a totally different experience. I wasn't used to hearing people bragging about how much money they earned last week over breakfast, which was common in the US, and I found it vulgar to say the least. However, in the US it's culturally accepted.

My point is that the US was a shock to me, and you will probably find Ireland something of a shock to you, if you go there as a student to live for a few months. I think it's different coming as a tourist.
