Has anyone sucessfully (and legally!) moved from the US to the UK?

My husband and I want to move there eventually... but looking up Visa and Tier 1 info is so confusing!!!

He has a bachelors degree in preaching from a bible college, I have some college but didn't graduate. Anyone know anything about clergy visas? I hear that's being done away with, going to the tier points system.

Any help on how to find a ministry job in the UK? websites, etc.?

Has anyone moved successfully? How much time did you need to prepare? how much money? how difficult?

I'm not sure we can get over with the Tier 1 points system (did a calculator and didn't make it) unless we win the lottery!! ;)

So I think a work permit is going to be the way, but HOW in the world do you find a job from over here??

Oh, and has anyone bought that online guide ( http://www.ukimmigrate.co.uk/ )- it looks like it might be a scam. Is it good, or rubbish?

Any help, tips, websites much appreciated. Thanks!

  1. everything will soon be working off a points system, because too many people have immigrated here, and we just don't have enough houses and jobs for everyone, we are a small island and we are slowly but surely getting full.

when it coems to getting a Job any UK and European Citizen is in front of anyone else in terms of pecking order and priority to get the job. the only way you can get a job is to prove that you have a skill, and can fill a position that no one else in the rest of the European Union can do, or you need to be transfered with a company you are already employed with
