I am 10 weeks pregnant and i am experiencing a lot of mood swings, but my main emotions are sadness and anger towards my partner.I feel hopeless and confused, everything seems so difficult and most days i don't have the energy or the courage to get out of bed and face the world.Do you think this is just hormones or possibly depression?

  1. It sounds more like depression to me, talk to your doctor about what you're feeling. Maybe they can set you up with a therapist. Good Luck!

  2. That's tough to say because your still in your first trimester when you HCG is the highest. If it goes on for two or more weeks, it's generally consider depression. If this is your first pregnancy, your more apt to have these feelings too. I would give it until your second trimester and if it doesn't let up, talk to a doctor, or better yet a therapist. Your OB/GYN is not going to do anything beside toss you a script for Zoloft, and that is not going to solve the root of the problems you might be experiencing.

  3. It sounds a little like depression - I didn't have it when I was pregnant, but I had it a little when I wasn't.  I just didn't want to get out of bed, do anything, life was too much to handle...  After a few days, I got through it and didn't need help, but if this is ongoing, you should talk to someone about it.

Being pregnant too - I found my husband was great, but having a woman to just complain & share things with made a world of difference!  If I spent 10 minutes complaing, I felt oddly terrific. :D
