I just switched to Npower (cos I got a free case of wine from Uswitch!) but BG want me back, is it worth it?

  1. There's no such thing as a free lunch - everyone will jump on the bandwagon so to be honest one is as good (Or bad!) as the other

  2. they might have a fixed rate until 2011 but what happens if the rate decides to full down the people on the fixed rate will still be paying the higher price i always say stick to what you know its the best policy i will never change over have been with edf for a few years now never had any problems with them we still get people knocking at the door or ringing us up to ask us to change but we just tell them the truth and hang up

  3. Those people who took up the last offer of a fixed rate are laughing now, until their fixed rate expires, then they are going to be in for a shock.

The new offer has the rate fixed for 3 years and would appear to be worth thinking about. It's a gamble, if the prices rise again like they have done in the past months you are on a winner, if they don't you haven't lost anything, because one thing is certain, the price isn't going to come down.

I would advise a careful reading of the terms and conditions to make sure there is nothing that is going to surprise you 12 months into the contract. There are penalties for changing your supplier during the contract.
