I am going on one this September.

To Florida and the Bahamas.

Also to an island called Cocakey or something like that.

Can you tell me about your experiences?

  1. Coco Cay is a private island owned by Royal Caribbean.  The ships in Florida that go to Coco Cay regularly are the Sovereign of the Seas out of Port Canaveral and the Majesty of the Seas out of Miami.

Carnival Cruise Line (CCL) does not have a private island.  However, Carnival Corporation, which owns CCL and Holland America Line (HAL) sometimes allows CCL to use HAL's private island, which is called Half Moon Cay.

Just be aware that September is the middle of hurricane season.  If a hurricane is headed toward your destination, the ship will go somewhere else instead.

  2. I live in florida but have been on a seven day cruise to the Bahamas with my family during Christmas week last year. The clubs for the teens are fun and more relaxed than for younger kids. If you're an adult youll have plenty to do. Be prepared for hot sunny weather.
