  1. this was our life for years. first of all there are thousands of RV parks across the USA.  Lots have build in things for kids.  park, pools, rides etc.  if you can try doing your driving at night this way the kids are asleep.  the beach is a fun place to go, the mountains even better.  take things for them to play with when in the RV.  and plenty of snacks.  don't worry about taking tons of clothes all RV parks have washer & Dryers.  Most all RV parks have showers where you can all bath at once, with out having to wait your turn.  our kids loved the Rv.

if you run out of snacks there store everywhere.  have fun.

  2. Yes, and it was a blast.  Took grandkids (ages 8/5) and we toured the Outer Banks of North Carolina.  We stopped many times, took a lot of hikes, and wore them out.  The only real problem was the seat belt issue.  When we were on the back roads and going under 50 my wife would let the kids lay down and nap.  Other times, when they needed to be belted in my wife would play games with them at the table.  We also took our dog and the kids loved having "Gracie" along with them as a "travel partner."

All in all the kids absolutely loved it and it was so much better than doing it in a car.  We did stop a couple of nights at hotels so the kids could swim in a pool but that wasn't necessary - just a little spoiling of the grandkids that we can do!

    I would highly recommend it!
