  1. I was on Nuva Ring for almost 2 years.

It was GREAT at first, because I was awful about taking the pill everyday.  But then, I started getting "itchy" down there at the end of every cycle- after 3 weeks each month.  I told my doctor about it and she said if there was no yeast infection, there was nothing to worry about.  And yes, it did come out during s*x sometimes, but not that often and my husband could never feel it.

However, I started noticing some weird symptoms after a while, like my hair thinning and severe headaches and stomach problems and read several other women (otherwise athletic and healthy like me) having the same problems on Nuva Ring, so I went off BC totally in January.

I would say, stick to the pill or other BC, since the nuva ring was NOT worth the physical costs.  Plus, even if you have insurance, the ring can cost about $50 a month.

  2. my ex had it when we were together,  it kept moving down, she pulled it out a bunch of times cuz it was really uncomfortable because it kept moving. she hated it

  3. If that is what I think it is one time it came out during s*x with a girl. I felt like I was being used for a game of ring toss...

  4. I'm on it actually & have been for about 10 months.  The first 3 months, my body & mind were a little off, but once my hormone levels  adjusted everything was fine.  I'm thinking about getting off of it now, because as much as I like it, b/c I don't have to remember a pill everyday, my s*x drive is "0"

I didn't have any problems listed above with bleeding or the ring moving around. Once its in there properly, you can't feel it, and if you want to remove it during s*x, you can.

    It's different with everyone

  5. I haven't taken it personally, but my best friend from HS did/is on it now. She is miserable. She has gained 50lbs from it (She is still very athletic and goes to the gym, watches what she eats etc). She says it effects her moods, and that now she has major mood swings.

She told me also that they are considering pulling it from the market, because of so many bad experiences... but Im not sure on that.

I am on the pill, and have had none of these side effects.

  6. BAAAADDDD!!  Bled for 3 months STRAIGHT and doctors kept saying my body needed time to adjust.  Needless to say, I went back and told them it wasn't working.

Ironically enough, I ended up having to have a hystorectomy for uterine cancer so that could have been the problem all along. IDK!  But when the ring came out, the bleeding stopped!  I hated it!!!
