I need to know what to study for the test. I have the study guide from their website, but was wondering if there was more I need to study.

  1. I took it two years ago while still in college.  I did not study because the Ed. prep program did a review and made us take a practice test before they would endorse us to take it.  There is stuff about the best position for giving instruction in the outdoors (students' backs should be to the sun), different stretches, etc.  If you went through a program geared towards teaching P.E, you should have learned everything you need to know.  Generally, some questions will require common sense (safety, etc), and then others you have to assume you are in the utopian school and have an unlimited budget and resources.  Example :  Which of the following would be the best way to teach students the Hula?

    a. break the dance down into steps and use demonstration and guided practice.

    b. show a video about the dance and then have students practice.

    c. invite a hula dancer to come and demonstrate.

    d. fly the students to Hawaii to attend a luau where the dancers will teach them step by step.

If there were no limits, the choice is D.  That may be a bit of an over exaggeration, but that specifically sticks out in my mind as the way the professor told us to approach the test.

P.S. - I took the Math 4-8 and Math 8-12 as well.  I printed off the study guides for both and passed both even though it had been 2 years since I had taken a math class!  I think the study guides are pretty good, as long as you have taken classes towards that subject.
