Last summer I took a 3 week course at the University of Montréal in intensive French. I am thinking of trying the similiar course at UQAM in Montréal this summer. Which school do you think does a better job with the short French courses? Also, has anyone stayed in the UQAM student residences? Last summer I was in the Solin Hall residences near the Lionel Groulx metro.

  1. To be perfectly honest with you, I didn't even know that those brief courses were available at either universities - can you believe this?!?

University of Montreal is where I did my B.A. too!

Although three short weeks doesn't seem remotely like a sufficient amount of time to learn anything - time will fly by!

As far as student residences are concerned - I'm not the right person you should ask this to, sorry.

  2. zamina7,

so i was searching around and it appears that we have the same dilemma (except that you know more about the university of montreal program).

i plan to be at one of the 2 this summer. i'm still having a hard time deciding, mostly due to the lack of info out there.

whats your opinion of the university of montreal program? and what kind of proficiency do you need to get into the intermediate level? whats the placement test like? Residencial situation)
