Is it horribly difficult? How much did you study? Tell me about the test.

  1. the written part was actually harder than I expected, however, it was still pretty easy if you paid attention (I always underestimate objective questions...=D)

and the skills test was practically a joke for us

our instructor didn't even tell us that we were doing the test, we thought we were still practicing, then all of a sudden he just said we all passed

so yea, don't worry, I'm sure if you get to the final exams, you should be fine unless you forgot almost everything you learned :P

  2. I took it a few years ago. If your generally a good swimmer and you generally paid attention in class you should be fine.

Memorize things such as: How to backboard, different #'s in CPR for child/adult/infant, and stuff like that. If you know how to backboard someone with a head and neck injury at the bottom of a pool and give CPR afterwards, you should be in excellent shape.

  3. which one, NLS? u have to be strong..........to be able to swim with a 20 pound weight and to carry a 20 pound weight from the bottom of the pool. It is alot of studying.......I just took AWSI and i had a swimming and a writen test. It was open book, if u take notes you'll be fine!!!!!!!!!! LOL have a good day.............

  4. i would like to

  5. no its not that hard. You should be a really strong swimmer and be able to hold a lot of weight in the water (if you are strong it makes it so much easier) Also the test isn't to hard but you should spend some time to review for it. I recommend that you review the medical parts and the CPR stuff there is a lot on the test. Hope that helps
