Has anyone taken the cruise to the Galapago Islands?

If so, how was it?

What tips would help us on our first trip?

I haven't been there, I wasn't even aware they allowed cruises to stop there.  I have to admit I'd love to go, but I don't know if I would, or if I really feel comfortable with others going.  It's the last place on Earth of its kind, & I'm sure everyone will be as careful as they can be (alright, I'm not sure of any such thing, lol) but I believe that the Galapagos should be left alone.

I certainly can't blame anyone for wanting to go, however history has taught us that whenever mankind interferes with nature, nothing good ever comes of it.  My tips would be the obvious ones~ please don't touch any of the inhabitants or interact with them.   Make sure you leave no trash, etc.

I'm sure you will be very conscientious, it's the others cruise members I worry about.  Please post some pics for us!

I took a cruise to the Galapagos Islands 2years ago.  The boat accommodations where adequate and the food was great.  The island hopping was the best just walking among the animal populations whether they were bird, reptile, or sea lions and they don't even respond to you, just go about there daily activities like your not there.  It's the only place in the world like that.  They have absolutely no fear of humans and the Galapagos has such rare and unusual wild life..  A wonderful experience  You won't be disappointed in anything just take plenty of cameras you'll get the up close and personal shots

I haven't but I know someone who cruised the Galapagos on Celebrity - they said it was outstanding!
