  1. I think those medications are a bad idea.  They turn the kids into zombies and make every real problem get worse.

I have friends who are psychiatrists and psyche grad students, and most of them agree this diagnosis.

I also think a lot of ADD is inaccurately diagnosed and is not a condition which should be tested for.

However, in relevance to your questions, I know a lot of people who have had success with their children by taking them off certain food additives (certain ones just cause all sorts of mental problems for kids).

This website is a moderately good database for it; I'd suggest you study it.

    Hope that helps!

  2. My son was diagnosed with ADHD and his teachers kept suggesting that he be put on the meds.  My son has an overly high IQ.  He was so smart that he made straight A's in class and has never studied a day in his life.  He always forgot to turn in his homework because he felt it wasn't important to turn it in since he obviously knew the information based upon his testing results.  I put him on meds and he hated it.  He told me that it made his mind slow down and he didn't like that muddy, fuzzy feeling.  I took him off after three months of meds and I am glad I did.  He is now 20 and is an artist and a musician.  He has to have lots of activity and a very active social life.

IMHO, most boys that are diagnosed with ADHD or ADD need to have way more activity than a regular school can provide.  These are kids that need to be involved in soccer and track and kickboxing and skateboarding and anything else that will help them to use the abundance of physical energy.  Yes, changing their diet to remove sugars and energy drinks of all kinds helps greatly, along with red food dye.  CranioSacral Therapy also helps with ADD and ADHD.

  3. tuna /salmon oil capsules, zinc and colostrum are  all required for this condition

  4. Hi,

there is a method of healing ADD and other kinds of  mental disorders. The method is called S.I.R (Soul Integration and Recreation).

Here is a blog: http://www.eveanderson.weebly.com where you can submit your concerns and questions.  It will help you definitely!

  5. ADD is taken as an emotional/mental problem because it is a behavioural thing.

It is not mental, it is not emotional. It is purely physical. Those children are allergic to sugar. If you cut off ALL sugar, including soft drinks and all the products that contain sugar -  like ketchup - (yes, it is timeconsuming to check everything, but so worthwhile!) you will realize after 2 to 3 weeks that you have a perfectly normal child.

Reintroduce a small amount of sugar and there is the ADD behaviour again. So keep the child totally off sugar until the allergy problem is resolved.

Sometimes, rarely, there are other allergies involved, but sugar is the great culprit.

If there is a good kinesiologist who works with "Educating Alternatives" or "Neuro-Training" methods, you might consider consulting him/her to eliminate the allergies.

You son deserves a good life. You too, and the rest of the family. Medication has never been the answer for ADD or ADHD and those are usually convenience diagnoses.

If you want to read about this, I suggest TOXIC PSYCHIATRY by Breggin.

Wishing you all the best to you and your son.

  6. It is very common for people taking adhd medication to develop tics.  When ever something new develops, the doctor always has another medication for it.

Doesn't that ever make you go hmmmm?  These companies know what the medications will create and they come up with drugs for them.  It is how they make so much money.

I don't know how old your son is but I can tell you what people are doing, as well as myself.

    1. Diet change

With sensitivities to different things, he will need a diet of fresh foods.  Get rid of all the processed stuff.  Eliminate dairy, gluten, sugar, artificial ingredients, high fructose corn syrup, and these kinds of things.

Feed him fresh foods like meat, vegetables, fruits, nuts.  Not bagged, canned, or boxed.

Watch him.  If you give him soda, watch how he acts shortly after.  You will see him go crazy.  that is how you know when he shouldn't have something (it will have a negative effect).

    2. supplementation

You want to look for a suplement that will help your childs needs.  I find that a lot of them don't do this.  it is like they just guess what a child needs.

The child needs to have a healthy and balanced body.  His body doesn't need certain vitamins and minerals for certain things.

In many studies, it was found that Omega 3 was very beneficial.  This is one of the things I use.

Also, minerals are important.  The body will act out in certain ways when it has deficiencies.

You want the vitamins and minerals to be in a form that the body can use.  Most fail this part.

I realized this after I was sent a sample of a liquid vitamin and it changed my life.  (see the youtube video below for info)

    3. exercise

    Exercise is good for everyone!

With these simple things, you should see some improvements in health.

I am always available if you have questions.

  7. take him off the meds!

    children should not take them

    i have a.d.d too

it enlarges your dopamine receptors so when you grow up they are too large, since the drugs are taken before the brain is fully grown

it will cause a deficieny unless he takes the drugs forever

i dont know what exactly to do,

but i do know you should wait until 18 years + before taking a.d.d drugs!

  8. Attention Deficit Disorder is really nutrient deficit disorder. These kids are seriously deficient in the proper vitamins and minerals. Our food is nothing but chemicals.Cooking and processing destroy the enzymes in the food that you need to digest it.Without digestion, you get absolutely no benefit from food, only adverse reactions.Essential fatty acids are important. They used to naturallly occur in our food, but since most farm animals are penned up and fed corn, they are deficient. When they are allowed to eat fresh greens, then they get the fatty acids. You can give flax or fish oil supps.Juice Plus has the extracts of many fruits and vegitables, plus probiotics and photonutrients all in one.Hero nutritionals has a gummy.Kirkman labs make supp especially for autism and ADHD.Those cheap vitamins you buy in the grocery store are no good. You need good quality supps. Many kids have heavy metal toxitity.Try and get them off processed foods and feed whole natural foods as much as possible.Check out the book Prescription For Nutritional Healing.
