  1. My sister in law did with both pregnancies.  Everything was fine they just adminstered her antibiodics during labor.

  2. Yes.  They gave me a shot during or after labour I can't remember which.  It meant I needed a needle thing in my hand when I got to hospital so they could give me the medication.  All went well.

  3. Everything should be fine with the baby as long as you receive the antibiotics you need during labor.  For example, where I work, penicillin is given (as long as mom doesn't have an allergy to penicillin), IV every four hours until baby is born.  A minimum of 2 doses of penicillin is needed to be considered adequate amount.  Otherwise, baby may have to have blood drawn, and be closely monitored for 48 hours after birth and most likely iv antibiotics given to baby.  It's very serious for baby if the adequate amount of antibiotics is not given.

  4. My cousin told me Wednesday that she'd tested positive for strep and her labor delivery and baby are A-OK!!

  5. I see this all the time in our neonatal intensive care unit. Just because you test positive does not necessarily mean that your baby will. They will just either start antibiotics on you before you deliver or on your baby as a precaution afterward. Don't be too worried, it is a common occurrence. Good luck!

  6. yes with my first. they give you the meds in your iv while giving birth. she is fine and so am i.

  7. I tested postive for gropu b and they gave me antibotic during labor make sure that they know so that they give you the antibotic and I ha a healthy baby boy that is 15 months now . God Bless congrats
