Has anyone traveled on the Carnival Conquest? Any tips?

I am nervous about going on Carnival as I have heard lots of bad things. I have only cruised Royal Caribbean and Princess. Can you bring wine on board? Do they have soda cards? What excursions do you recommend? Any insider advice would be helpful. Thanks!

I travelled on the Liberty which is the same class.  Wine - yes, a small amount.  Soda cards - yes for $40.00.  Advice - put your towel on the beach chair at about 6:00 am if you want a chair.

I have traveled on the conquest and had a great time.We went to Grand cayman,Jamaica,and cozumel.beautiful places.I would suggest if going to Jamaica to go on a shore excursion.the Jamaicans will swarm you like killer bees if you just go shopping.I do not think you are allowed to take wine on board but they wont check your bags so you could try to sneak it.no extra charges other than sodas and alxoholic beverages.

I went on two Carnival cruises and they were great!  Yes, they allow you to bring wine on board, have soda cards.  I loved parasailing - it was an amazing experience.  Just make sure you see how they do it before you do as some are better than others.  There are more planned activities than one can possibly do.  Take advantage of the massages and hot tubs on upper deck.  Seeing the stars at night is heavenly.  Have a wonderful time.
