  1. Viet Sandwiches - several types of meat, veggies, all on hot baked bread - it is called bahn.

Best and most authentic place to get one is in nyc on Broome and Elizabeth street in chinatown, order the #1. It is a small hole-in-the wall deli but they make them the best... not to mention $3.50!!!

  2. I am Vietnamese so I'll tell you what I usually eat.

    Appetizers:

    1. Goi Cuon (spring rolls)-pork, vermicelli noodles, some veggies, served with peanut butter sauce

    2. Cha Gio (egg rolls)-pork, sometimes shrimp, noodles, served with fish sauce

    3. Pho (beef/chicken noodle soup)-rice noodles served with either beef or chicken in brothy soup.

    4. Com Chien Duong Chau (fried rice) - rice with barbeque pork and all sorts of veggies and sometimes shrimp.

    5. Che (dessert). Try Che Ba Mau (Tri-Color Che)- It has variety of beans, jellies and coconut juice. My favorite is Xam Bo Luong- this one has seaweed, chinese apples, longans and lotus seeds.

Those are some of the things I usually eat. This might help in choosing something to eat when you go to a Vietnamese restaurant.

    I hope this helps.

  3. I've eaten it and loved it.  Very spicy and aromatic.  Couldn't tell you what it wa called though, it was so long ago.

  4. Pho Ga and it rocked

  5. Pho (vietnamese noodle soup with assorted meats)

egg rolls (they have fresh ones and fried ones--both very good)

    fried rice

chow mein (crispy fried and soft noodles--both good)

for dessert, try che ("pudding" but more like a drink with different colors from beans and coconut milk)

    enjoy.
