  1. I think the bet service is through http://www.tiffanyvague.acnrep.com  because they give a percentage of everyone's billings to non profit organizations to help with their programs.  No other phone provider has these programs.

Their prices are as low as 9.99 a month.  If you need more information, you'll have to contact them.  The contact information is on the front page of the web site.

  2. yes!! I'm also an AT&T refugee....they nikel-n-dimed me to death, but I have Packet8 VoIP services and love it!!

    http://www.packet8.net/residential_servi...

  3. I have vonage and I love it!! The only bad thing for me is not having a local #. I live in SC just south of Charlotte, and I have an NC area code and #. You should check online to see if they have local #'s in your area. You can also keep your current # if you want to.

  4. I'm military stationed overseas in Okinawa, Japan and ALL the military people here use Vonage. Free unlimited long-distance is a definite plus for those of us so far from home. Your choice of phone numbers from ANY area code. Your family lives across the country and can't afford long distance? Add a number in their local area!!! Tons of other various features you can add for fairly cheap. Desktop-PC software so you can call from your computer without a telephone, toll-free numbers , etc, etc, etc. What's not to like? Honestly, after having it for over a year now, I'll never go back to a regular land-line again.
