Someone suggested it to me, but there is not much on the website about how it works. I know if is like $5 for the materials for each class.

  1. You have to abide by their rules about advertisers.  Someone posted about it here a couple months back.  Search the archives and you may find it.  They said it was really annoying.

Also, Mimi Mandel-Rothchild, is in charge of this.  It is very similar to her other [current] online schools:  Jubilee Academy & Grace Academy.  She has been in trouble with the law numerous times with various schools, and in different states.  I, personally, will stay clear of anything she's attached to.

I would look into something else like Time4Learning.  It's a subscription-based curriculum, but it covers a lot.

    EDITED AFTER OZBOZ'S COMMENT:

K12-Free Homeschooling is **NOT** K12, Inc.  It's one of Mimi Rothschild's tricks to get people to think it is.  This is K12, Inc.'s site:

    http://www.k12.com

It is K12 (no spaces or dashes).

This is K-12 Free HS'ing site:

    http://www.k-12freehomeschool.org/

It is K-12, as in Kdg-12th grade.

  2. Some people swear by K12.  We found it to be very dry and dull.  The mathematics text was poorly done and the reading material was quite dull.  The vocabulary was a series of boring, repetitive "in-one-ear-and out-the-other" exercises.  The science was uninspiring.

But that was us.  Others will have quite different views.

You might want to try using K12 for one subject and see how you like it.

I think K-12 and k12-free homeschooling are two different programs - although I agree with you that K-12 is dull and colorless.  Why use that when you can customize your own program!
