has anyone tried the HOBO store is it cheap? Is the furniture cheap at this place? they have locations in and around chicago.

HOBO is great.  Their merchandise is not second or third tier quality, or damaged goods.  In fact, most of their products are overstocks and clearance items that are first quality.  There are great deals to be had, although there is not set inventory and selection can vary both by location and time of year.  It's worth a trip if you have a fair amount of stuff to buy so any potential savings justifies the trip out there (in my case, anyway, since the closest location is about 25 miles from my home compared to <5 miles for the big box home improvement stores).

LOOOOVE Hobo.. yes cheaper than other places. So you will have to search to find all the pieces of things, for instance floor tiles you want, or the full set of dining chairs, etc.. but we got an amazing dining set, all wood inlayed, beautiful solid chairs, hutch with a light and leaded glass.. and everyone couldn't believe it didn't come from a high-end showroom. In fact, after 6 years, I sold the set on Cragslist for a little more than we actually paid for it! I'm in the Milwaukee area, but at least go, check it out. Couldn't hurt.
