If so how would you compare the two?? Would they be good drivers for high handicappers??

  1. yes

  2. I have used both and they are OK with me (HC 16). However, there is a catch at the beginning... if you are not careful both clubs are capable of delivering bad slices or at best reasonable fades.

You should not 'force' your shots when using these two clubs. I see no reason why high handicappers like you should not use any of these two clubs, provided you have chosen one with the right flex (e.g. S Or R) and swing weight (e.g. C8, C9, D0, D1, D2, etc) to suit your stature and capability.

Get the pro shop assistant to explain to you further before you buy one. Or, better still try one out first on the driving range (if this is possible).

  3. I just bought the Callaway FT-i (the square one) after trying a bunch of models at a Callaway demo.  I can hit my R7 425 just as far but the square shape of the FT-i helps me square the clubface at impact.  It's a mental thing.  I've always wondered why the club tests in Golf magazines discuss the look of the club at address.  Now I know why.  That's an expensive club though so if you consider it look for a good deal on CallawayPreOwned site.

  4. Hyper X, great for low handicappers. Great forgiveness.
