  1. no i would get a nikon d40 its a pro slr camera and works great for a good price

  2. Is it worth the money? That depends.

Do you like the look of images taken with a simple, plastic lens?

If you do, then it is worth it.

What do you get with a Diana camera? Simplicity. Beautiful soft focus images.  Freedom from the technological noise you will hear from other more techno oriented photographers.

There are a few downsides. You have to buy film, you have to get that film processed. You don't get instant feedback when you take a photo. You have to scan your film if you want to upload your photos.

If you decide to check it out, be sure to drop by my website:

I have a few video tutorials for the Diana camera and other plastic cameras.

  3. No way! It's a glorified disposable camera that has a lot of marketing behind it to make it seem that you "hip" if you are using one.

For those that disagree: It has a fixed aperture, fixed shutter speed, plastic lens.  That's a disposable camera.

For $90, you can do a lot better. If you want to be different and unique, go for a 70s era rangefinder. The first link is to a Canon QL17 which is a good camera for street photography. If that is too big a leap, try a older Nikon SLR (second link).

And a Nikon D40 is another price class of camera.... and it's digital.

  4. Only if you want to waste $50 or more.  You can get them on eBay for around $10 + shipping.  I have used one and it leaked light really bad.  You need to put tape around the back edge of the camera.  Its all plastic and the exposure is set to one speed + bulb.  If its the art aspect of the camera you are looking for then if you have the money to spend go for it.
