Question:

Has anyone tried the new Aquaglide Multisport boat?

I heard that it can be used as a sail boat, kayak, towable, and a wind surf. My main intention is to use it as a sail boat in a lake. What is the difference between this small sail boat and other small professional ones. Will it tip over on 4 foot waves. What are the pros and cons of this boat. Thanks

  1. It's biggest problem is while it can do all those things, it does none of them well as one with a specific task in mind. If you're really limited on space it might be ok if you really want something that can do all that, but you probably would be happier getting something else.  Inflatable kayaks and towables are plentiful, used ones are fairly cheap, when you're not using them they can be rolled up for easy storage, and will outperform the aquaglide.

Compared to other small sailboats, the aquaglide once again isn't the best, it's trying to be all things in one package, which means it can't do any of them well, and winds up costing more than just buying a used one designed for that purpose.  And yes, it can tip over in 4 foot waves when used as a sailboard or sailboat.
