Rythmn bells/beads? Looks like a necklace for a horse.

What do you think of them, do they help?

  1. I find they work best in a nervous horse.  Gives them something to think on.  They also help a student gauge when they are getting consistent collected gaits.

We were using them before they were "cool".  Used to tie a couple jingle bells on the throat latch buckle or so they could hang free at the back of the saddle.

Most people think they are a fashion statement .. and i guess they are now .. but there is a purpose to them.

  2. I think there just horse jewelry. I tried some years ago and they just keep sliding up on the horses neck.

  3. nope. never heard of it. gl!

  4. http://www.rhythm-n-beads.com/ try that i cant really explain it but some ppl at my barn have them and say it doesant really calm them more for decoration

  5. I've seen some at a horse convention. I haven't tried any, but they were so pretty. I've heard that rhythm and music makes a horse relax. That's how we work with some horses.

When we find a horse that has a fear of something that makes a noise, we make is make the noise in a steady rhythm until the horse expects what's coming. Also a nice rhythm in gaits relaxes horses. Maybe the bells would calm a horse down, at least if the weren't scared of them!
