Has anyone tried to drive across the border of mexico the morning of the baja 1000?

Im going to be going across the boarder about 630 to go to ensenenad the morning of the baja 1000? Have you dealt with the border traffic at that time? How bad was it? What time were you at the border?

Coming South at that time is no problem at all.  Going back to the US is where the hassle is.  Recommend that you drive to ENS via the scenic highway since going through Tijuana to the free road and then on to ENS that way is a real time waster.  On the way back, if you leave when everyone else does, be prepared for delays at the toll booths along the scenic highway and for a long wait at the border.
