Has anyone tried to use Apple TV one a regular TV set... not a wide screen?

I recently won one in a contest and I went to the apple website. They were very clear about the widescreen TV part. I don't have one, but I DO have iTunes Am I screwed unless I actually get a wide screen HDTV?

Looks like it based on their site, however I would be willing to bet that as long as your TV does HDMI or component video, it doesnt HAVE to be wide.
