Question:

Has anyone tried using the Pimsleur Approach language learning program?

their ad says "100% guaranteed, speak in 10 days or you don't pay"

it sound like an exaggeration to me. has anyone had any experience with this program?

  1. Yes, I've used Pimsleur before and it's a really good program. In 10 days you'll know some basic phrases like introducing yourself, etc. I don't know as if you can become fluent using it and it is kind of expensive, but it is really good. You can just buy a sample for like $20 from Barnes and Noble or something if you want to test it out yourself.  


  2. Pimsleur is good. I find it's very helpful with pronunciation and it will help get you speaking. Just don't expect to become fluent from it. You won't become fluent from any of these courses. If you can get Pimsleur at a good price, buy it.

    Actually, my favorite beginner course is Michel Thomas. It makes you manipulate sentences and pronouns. I also thought the student-teacher format was helpful. This one is generally cheaper than Pimsleur and it's a good introduction (8 hours). That's not to say it's without flaw.
