My mom got a pamphlet on them and tried researching them, but there isnt that much info on them anywhere. Has anyone tried them before? Are they good? Any info would be helpful, THANKS!

  1. I actually fit wave contact lenses for many years. (I am no longer in eye care but do consult with many wave doctors.) The key with wave contact lenses, as is true with any lenses, is that the person fitting and designing them must be skilled.

There is probably no question that your nearsightedness and astigmatism can be corrected with any contact lens. Depending on the correction, gas permeable lenses will most certainly do a better job.

Wave lenses are gas permeable lenses that are designed by using a topography image of your corneas and a CAD based software program. Therefor they can be made much more comfortable than other lenses.

In my opinion, when in the right hands, Wave contact lenses are far superior than many other types of gas permeable lenses.

So if you trust your eye doctor is a good contact lens fitter, go ahead and try them out.

The most information you will probably find online is at http://www.wavecontactlenses.com and at http://www.noblur.com (a skilled wave fitters website)

No contact lens will do anything for floaters as they are on the inside of your eyes.

I hope this helps and good luck with your lenses.

  2. Wave Contact Lenses are custom designed from your corneal “fingerprint”. Wave’s special video camera and software digitally maps your cornea with thousands of numbers. You doctor uses the map data and Wave’s special design software to create a custom lens that follows almost every tiny shape on your cornea. In the width of a hair, there may be as many as 10 distinct curves on the back of the lens. With so many curves, Wave lenses offer unrivaled comfort and sharper optics. Many unsuccessful contact lens wearers are successful Wave lens users.

To be honest , I never heard of them , but here is some info about them.
