Has anyone turned from ugly duckling to princess in their twenties?

Until i was about 22 .. everyone called me ugly and i got bullied a lot but then all of a sudden everyone started calling me beautiful even a model agent stopped me in dublin and said i was beaituful but because i was called names for so long i still feel ugly. Has anyone else ever felt like this?

my aunt she was so ugly and everyone came to her and said your ugly and when she was 14 and 15 se tuned kinda pretty

yes yes yes, i was the ugly one at school at now im 24, i have never felt so confident and most of my school friends dont recognise me, im happier in my skin now by loads

Yes in school I was told I was ugly and now I still sometimes think like that even though many people have said otherwise. I'm 21 now and "matured" when I turned 16 after the "ugly duckling" phase from 13.

Well, I'm not in my twenties yet, but I was called ugly too, but now that I'm a teen, Ive been getting treated better.

and I know I'm beautiful, because, no matter what anyone said, I ignored them.

Wow, if a model agent stopped you, dang, you must be really really pretty.

I'm 15 and havnt really been called pretty allot but have been called ugly.

Espeacially in primary i got called fat too ;(

That's what usually happens to the most beautiful girls.  They weren't considered attractive as children, but after puberty they were gorgeous.  Then, they still have the 'ugly duck' mentality and don't think themselves as pretty.  Guys usually like girls like you better.  You don't put yourself on a pedestal like most beautiful girls do because you don't know you're true beauty.

i have not no but i will say don't let it go to your head. My friend is the best looking women i know and she doesn't know it, when guys ask for her number she is genuinely shy and hates it happening...i think it makes her 100x more attractive becuase she isn't flicking her hair or posing or sitting carefully to show her best side....she is laughing with me as we splash in a  river and giggling over shared jokes as we shop or even frowning as she listens to the latest issue on the news....a girl like that is always so much better than one who knows she is pretty!

I'm glad to know you have built up some confidence though (or i assume) becuase you deserve to :D

Beauty comes with age!! When I was younger, I got made fun of alot by guys, I felt awkward because I was a late bloomer. I was never up to date with hairstyles or makeup and I just felt like all the other girls were ahead of me...BUT as I got older, I started to not care, do my makeup the way I wanted and funny thing was that all the boys that made fun of me...wanted to date me! hahaha. Now I get complements ALL the time and I as well still feel confused sometimes about how I went from being so AWKWARD to being called beautiful. But ALOT of  hollywoods most beautiful women has said when they were young they were not so attractive and now look at them. Eva Longoria has said it, and many others. But beauty can be perceived in many ways. For instance, Some people think that skinny is beautiful, others think that curvy is. Its all in ones matter of opinion. But were all beautiful on the inside :D
