I have been looking for a vitamin supplement for my 13 month old for a while when I came across the Poly-Vi-Sol. I asked the pharmacist which one would be better (with iron or without) he told my without unless the Dr said she needed iron. So, I asked him if he would recommend any kind of vitamin supplement at all and he said yes. So, with the questions I asked him I decided to get it. I have had it for a few days now.. and have yet to use it. So, has anyone used it? Experiences? I also asked him if it was flavored, he didn't know.. is it flavored?

  1. I use Poly Vitamin Drops with fluoride .25 mg. My daughter does fine with it. In my area there is no fluoride in the water so she has to be on this so make sure you have it with fluoride if your Doctor recommends it.

  2. YES THIS IS WHAT I HAVE BEEN GIVING MY SON FOR ABOUT 2 MONTHS NOW.  IT HAS NO FLAVOR AND SMELLS AWFUL!  THE ONLY WAY I GET MY SON TO TAKE IT IS TO TELL HIM HIS TOY PENGUIN OSWALD NEEDS TO TAKE HIS VITAMINS.  SO HE GOES AND GETS OSWALD AND WE PRETEND TO GIVE HIM VITAMINS AND THEN MY SON WILL TAKE THEM.  I FEEL BAD THAT THEY TASTE SO GROSS BUT I HAVENT BEEN ABLE TO FIND ANY OTHER KIND FOR CHILDREN UNDER 2.

  3. you could taste it to see if its flavoured. i've never tried it.

we used D-Vi-Sol when I was breastfeeding my son. he didnt seem to care when we gave it to him tho...

as far as i know getting extra vitamins could never hurt a child so i say go for it.

  4. It claims to be fruit- flavored, but it tastes nothing like fruit.  It tastes and smells horrible.  My baby would not take it...he was only breastfed at the time, so perhaps he would have taken it if it could be mixed in with something to mask the flavor.

  5. my doctor prescribed it for my 2 month old daughter a month ago. because im breastfeeding and she needs the extra vitamins because she has an extra calcium built up on one of her ribs. there is no added flavors, but it is naturally fruit flavors. it taste like toddler gummy vitamins.

    my bad we use tri-vi-sol
