  1. I have used in homeopathic mother tincture as an experiement on self.  The result was not good for a very healthy person like me. it gave me uncomforts and pains in extremities like bruised pain on small of the back and thighs.    I have helped with it persons in need, for impotency.  The medicine had wonderful curative power. The maximum period of use for result was within three days, three times a day.   Ginseng Q can help in many other areas homeopathically.  The symptoms should match and the medicine can do wonders.

For energy press your little fingers. use a spoon of honey daily.  For stamina, homeopathically, Sterculia Q and Gingko Biloba would be more useful in mother tincture.

  2. Ginseng was the first herb that I began to use personally to learn its effects. From your question, it sounds like you might be an athlete looking for some extra benefit. Is this it?

There are several types of herbs associated with Panax ginseng. They are also taken with various amounts of preparation. Raw ginseng is one, cooked ginseng another. Depending on the herbs used in cooking the ginseng, it may be modified differently. Typically Korean Red Ginseng will have somewhat different properties than Sanchi, Chinese ginseng. American ginseng, Panax quinquifolia, has other properties. It is considered cooling. The previous ones are considered warming.

In traditional Chinese medicine use, ginsengs are typically used to restore strength that is missing, as opposed to added a supercharging effect. They are considered an adaptogenic herb, aiding all of the main organ systems in the body.

I remember using the seven leaf ginseng, Gynostemma pentaphyllum, to recover from fatigue while working on a project in Mexico building a house. It helped me recover in just a few minutes.

If you are considering a boost for performance, a new modern preparation from other Chinese herbs is available, called Race Day Fuel. It aids in the transfer of sugars into the cells, making the amount of fuel available higher and does some other things to reduce anaerobic muscle metabolism, which will help prevent the build-up of lactic acid, the thing which causes cramps. That would be my current choice for performance enhancing herbs.

  3. I've used ginseng extract before and it's pretty good stuff.  The best ginseng for energy is korean ginseng the redder the root the better.
