So my period last 7 days. I had s*x on the 4th day of my period and took Plan b on the 5th day. My period ended around the 7th day as normal, but like 1 or 2 days later my period came back. I know it wasn't spotting, it was my period because it was medium heavy.

Does this have anything to do with the plan b pill? Is it one of the side effects?

10 points for the best answer! thanks.

  1. Its normal...your period should go away like if you never took the pill. All bodies react different to the pill and dont worry you wont be pregnant that is if you took it the right way.

  2. this happened when i took plan b too. it made me bleed in the middle of my cycle and i talked to my doctor about it and he said it was normal. something about the hormones and stuff in it making it so the egg can't be fertilized. if you are really worried call your local pharmacy or doctor and they should be able to tell you.

  3. Yes, some bleeding after taking Plan B is normal.

Plan B is a type of progesterone.  Progesterone causes the uterine lining to build up a little; then when you stop taking it, you bleed it out.  It's not a period, really.  It's called a "withdrawal bleed."

Some people will get this with Plan B, even though you only take it one day.

  4. this is completely normal, the same thing happened to me but i got it like a week later. the clinic didn't worn me about this along with having lower back pains where it hurt so much that i went to the hospital to see what was up. the doctor told me this happened from taking the morning after pill. don't worry about it

  5. Irregular bleeding is the most common side effect of Plan B. The extra hormones probably caused you to bleed again so quickly. It may also effect your next cycle, which could come early or late and be lighter or heavier. Don't worry, it's all totally normal.

    Hope that helps.

  6. It's definitely a side effect. Most women should expect their period within 2 weeks of taking plan B, but after taking it once, I had my period the very next day, event though i'd just had it the week before. Plan b is basically a huge dose of hormones, (triple the amount found in birth control), so you can expect an unusual period this month.
