Has anyone used a holley carb # 08551 on their boat?

It's a new square bore Holley 600 cfm marine carb, vac. sec., electric choke & universal calibration with .062 primary & .089 main holes.The floats are not external adjustable.

  1. Holly Carbs were common in the 70's.  I don't recognize the number you used, but If you know the CFM of this carb, I could tell you more.  Mercriuser switched to Rochester in the mid 70's on the GM blocks, , however the Holly's had several advantages, easier float adjustment and the "jets" could be easily changed to match engine requirements.  I do remember something about a wedge plate, to level the carb on engines mounted at an angle.  The linkages were easy to change to accommodate Morse controls.  I think the flame arrester was hard to find, but the boat I'm thinking about ran great.
