My partner is having major surgery and is thinking about using arnika. If you have experience or knowledge of this would you tell me about it? Is it as good as morphine for pain?

  1. Umm no! Arnica used by mouth just allows the tissues to stop swelling after surgery. I used it before I had four wisdom teeth extracted via general surgery and was the first Patient to be allowed home. It did zero for the pain, but the bruising and swelling were minimal, in fact you could not tell just by looking at me I had undergone facial surgery. I use arnica cream, always have a tube in the house for bruises. If I knock myself straight on with the cream and it stops the normal red, purple, black bruise. It is not a pain killer. Best of Luck
