Has anyone used chlorhexidine gluconate mouth rinse for infected gum over wisdom tooth? ?

How long did it take til your symptoms got better? I've been using it 3 times a day for 3 days and I'm still in extreme pain and it's very swollen. Not sure if it's working yet or if I need to give it more time. Dentist didn't put me on any antibiotics, dont know if I should request some?

In addidtion to the swishing, I sometimes reccomend dipping your toothbrush in it, and brushing the rinse around that infected area also....that way it gets in and around the area well also.....Just do that before your rinsing.
