Question:

Has anyone used hypnosis to help symptoms of ADHD?

My son has ADHD and is currently under medication but I was thinking that maybe hypnosis might help him to remember the simple things in school. His teachers have to tell him over and over again to do simple things like raise your hand before speaking, etc. If anyone is a hypnotist or has been hypnotised for ADHD only or knows of someone who has used it for ADHD please feel free to share.

Thanks!

  1. We tried, but the kid couldn't focus long enough to get hypnotized.

His teachers WILL have to keep reminding him what is appropriate behavior. Poor impulse control is part of ADHD. Eventually he will learn it as his brain matures, but there are no fast cures ... this is a developmental disorder.

You can help him by having a rigid schedule, teach him to use a daytimer, regular good meals (snacks help), anjd plenty of sleep with a consistant time for getting up.

  2. I haven't try it but I know where you can find out more information and probably use if you want to hypnotize someone.
