Has anyone used progesterone supplements in early pregnancy?

I am 4 weeks pregnant and my Doctor put me on Prometrium (200mg), which is a progesterone supplement. I have had one miscarriage and my Doctor put me on this because I have had a history of low progesterone. Has anyone ever taken or heard of this?? What was your experience? Thanks!

My doctor also put me on progesterone when I first fell pregnant.  It basically encourages the endometrium to grow (the lining) so that it can support a pregnancy until the placenta takes over.  If you have low progesterone, your endometrium may not be able to support a pregnancy and you could miscarry.

I am now 13 weeks and off the progesterone as the placenta is now doing its job.  Keep taking your supplements and you'll be fine.
