  1. I haven't used the site; I always use http://www.venere.com/.

I did select a couple of dates and cities and did a comparison between the two sites. They seem fairly equivalent. The prices for the same hotels on the same nights are equal (not surprising). The specific hotels listed aren't identical, but are largely the same. It was interesting to me that the user reviews on the same hotels between the two sites were very close on the ones I checked - but both have a fairly large sample size.

One advantage that Venere has is that it isn't limited to Italy and covers more places in Italy. I found a good hotel very close to the train station and the fair grounds for Octoberfest in Munich a couple of weeks ago.

The italyvip site has more language options for the interface. Both have options where you can see the hotels on a map and choose hotels by location. The features listed under why italy vip? are also true of venere and other sites here (but not all).

I don't see a huge difference between the two, but since I have used the venere site often with good results and trust the site, I wouldn't change. However, this site seems to be pretty good too.
