I need cash fast and I get paid on the 15th unfortunately I also have to drive 100 miles and have no money for gas. Has anyone used a check into cash service? Was it worth it?

  1. I THINK THEY ARE BAD NEWS...I HAD A FRIEND WHO HAD TO CLOSE HER BANK ACCOUNT BECAUSE OF THEM....BUT IF YOU NEED IT BAD, AND CAN'T GET IT NO OTHER WAY...DO WHAT YOU HAVE TO DO...BUT PAY IT BACK ON TIME...BECAUSE THAT'S WHEN IT REALLY REALLY GETS BAD.

  2. Well they provide a service that nobody else would provide.  And they get paid for it, handsomely too.

So, YES they are expensive, but if that's your only choice, go for it.

And YES, if your check bounces they will try to re-deposit it over and over and over . .   what's wrong with that?

Borrow money only if you are 110% sure you can repay it, borrowing money with the "hope" that you'll be able to repay it is STUPID, and stupidity has a price, at times it's $ 400 of overdraft fees sometime is worse.

  3. My personal opinion:  It's legalized loan sharking.

Use it as a last resort.  Keep in mind you will probably pay about $15.00 to $20.00 for every $100.00 you borrow.

These companies are the worst at tracking you down too if you don't meet the repayment arrangements.  They will keep depositing that same check over and over and over again while your bank charges overdraft fees for the same check over and over and over again.  I had one customer end up $400.00 in debt because of one $125.00 cash advance.

If you can at all avoid it, please do.
